A young Dundee United team suffered a 2-3 defeat to an energetic Brechin City this evening. On the back of Brechin's 4-4 draw with Aberdeen at the weekend, the Glebe Park side went one better although United put out few first team players in their side.
United, with Paul Jarvie in goal, trailed 0-2 at the interval before falling further behind into the second half. Two goals in the final fifteen minutes by Jim Hamilton brought some respectability to the final score for the Tangerine side which also featured Carson in the line up.
