UNITED KITTED OUT FOR NEXT SEASON

24th May 2002

United unveiled their new strips for the forthcoming 2002-2003 season at their Fifth Annual Dinner last Sunday. The design of the home kit remains the same and it is to the away and Centenary strips where changes have been made.

As the Club moves into its third season with TFG Sports, the away kit has reverted to a green based kit with the shirt having a white and a tangerine stripe. The shorts are green and the socks white. "In a way it's kind of Chelsea in style" commented General Manager Bill Campbell. "By that I mean that the top and shorts are he same colour and the socks are white with tangerine and green rings at the top. When we previously had a green shirt, it lasted for two years and became one of our best selling kits." The new away kit should be in the United Shop around the end of July and early August.

The second centenary strip has already been in action when the team played in the new black strip against Kilmarnock in the final match of the 2001-2002 campaign. "We have had a very favourable response to our new centenary kit. It should be in the shops early June and we are already taking deposits in the United Souvenir Shop."

Along with the new Season Ticket package, which is scheduled to be sent out next week, will be an order form for next season's United strips.
