Stuart Duff celebrated the awarding of a new three-year contract from Dundee United by being named Bank of Scotland SPL Young Player of the Month for April.
The 20 year-old defender has recently broken into the first team at Dundee United playing at full back where he had been deputising for the injured Jamie McCunnie. His Manager, Alex Smith, pointed out that although Stuart started off as a midfielder he is so two-footed that he can play on either side of the defence.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Football Writers Association, who judge the Bank of Scotland Awards said, "In football you have to take every opportunity that comes your way. Stuart has certainly done this and his performances throughout April have been outstanding. The awarding of a new contract certainly backs this up."
George Mitchell, Treasurer and Managing Director, Bank of Scotland said, "Dundee United have recently given new contracts to several of their most promising youngsters which augurs well for the players and the future of Scottish football. Stuart Duff has proved over the past month why his Club gave him a new three-year deal by turning in a series of fine performances."
