Reviewing the first two weeks of the Club's healthy life style project, DUFC and SFA Community Officer John Holt is very pleased with the response from the children participating in his "Unite-in-Fitball" courses. "It's been a 'fruitful' experience so far, John commented. "The kids are most enthusiastic about the whole programme, and they are very keen to pick up some fruit and a bottle of water on their way home. At every session we give them a wee talk about diet and you can see they are developing an interest and awareness that they might not have otherwise gained. And the parents are thoroughly delighted with the ways in which we persuade kids to think healthy. It's all about habits and associations and I believe this project is beginning to have a real impact on the children that come along to play football. They are starting to understand that football, fitness and a balanced diet are completely inseparable issues."
The next Fitball event is this coming Thursday at the School of Excellence at Gussie Park.
