Looking ahead to tomorrow's difficult Old Firm encounter at Parkhead, United Manager Smith was looking for a concerted all-round effort from his men stating: "After last Saturday's fine win at Tynecastle, we are now approaching another difficult away game against the most challenging opposition of all. It goes without saying that we have to be completely on top of our game and remain thoroughly focused, individually and collectively, for the full ninety minutes. It is a great opportunity for our young team to gain invaluable experience. Last week we were most encouraged by the performance of our young players Stuart Duff and David Winters. It is almost certain that Stuart will play from kick-off tomorrow and, depending on our tactical moves, David might also be involved from the start."
Returning to the squad are injury come-back men Jamie McCunnie and Jim Paterson whilst Derek Lilley is available having served his suspension. United's injury list remains an impediment, however, leaving the Manager without the services of McIntyre, Wright, Hamilton, Fullarton and Wilson to choose from.
