VOGTS CALLS UP GALLACHER AND THOMPSON

Alex Smith had great pleasure in announcing on Monday afternoon that two Dundee United players had received the call-up for the Scotland squad from the new national team manager Berti Vogts. "We are all very pleased with the breaking news of Paul Gallacher and Steven Thompson (pictured) being included in Mr Vogt's first international squad selection to play against France on Wednesday next week. It is a great compliment indeed to both the players and the Club and it will give Paul and Steven a great boost and help them become even more confident in the future".

The Manager went on to underline the role of the Club's youth development policy in the players' selection: "Crucially, this is also a great credit to our scouts and coaching staff as these two players have come right through the Club's own system, and I am sure Easton, Paterson and McCunnie will follow suit."
