The Team Talk
Jim Goodwin made two changes following a frustrating derby defeat a fortnight ago.
They came in search of more balance as Ross Docherty returned to captain the side alongside Craig Sibbald in the heart of midfield. They replaced Alan Campbell and Declan Gallagher - the latter through injury.
There were three DUFC Academy graduates involved in our matchday squad this afternoon.
Early Openings and VAR Drama
The first chance fell the way of the hosts after a bit-part start in a sunny Dingwall - Noah Chilvers forcing a block as he struck at goal inside the first five minutes.
We seemed to gain some control in the following minutes with some scurries forward towards the County penalty area. Twice we were denied a spot-kick from VAR as Sam Dalby went down inside the area ahead of Middleton firing over after picking up the pieces. Luca Stephenson will feel he should have done better as he was quick to latch onto a mistake at the back and looked to be crashed to ground by the onrushing Amissah as he looped the ball over the bar. Again, no penalty after a quick VAR check.
We survived a scare just before the 25-minute mark as a long throw was flicked on and Alex Samuel came mighty close to turning it home at the back post - a huge save from Jack Walton keeping him at bay.
VAR made it a hat-trick of first-half penalty checks as it looked certain a County arm made contact with the ball inside the area, but it was nothing doing as we were waved play on by Steven McLean and went in goalless at the break.
A Forgetful Fifteen
With no real action of note in a tame second-half opening, we rolled the dice in a switch of shape as Louis Moult replaced Craig Sibbald.
A Second Bite at the Cherry
Collosal all afternoon alongside Vicko Ševelj, Graham almost found the opening as he climbed highest to nod Ryan Strain's corner down into the ground - falling just over the crossbar as we searched for an opener.
He wasn't forced to wait much longer, as an almost carbon copy unfolded less than five minutes later. This time there was no mistake from our number 6 who left Jordan Amissah helpless.

We were only denied a second by a stunning block on the line from Elijah Campbell as Moult fizzed a volley towards goal around ten from time. Sam Dalby almost added to his impressive tally and had a chance to kill it as he met Ruari Paton's teasing cross but headed straight into the arms of Amissah.
They were uncostly in the end as we outfought the hosts for the seven additional minutes to take all three points back down the road!
