Dundee United defender Ross Graham spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with Motherwell on Matchday 27.
The Academy graduate discussed a season of ups and downs, finding rhythm personally and collectively, consolidating our place in the top six and more!
ON GENERAL THOUGHTS HEADING INTO MATCHDAY 27
It's a big game for both teams. We're coming off the back of a couple of defeats, so we want to get back to winning ways.
We know Motherwell will be right up for it as well with their new manager coming in and they've not been on a good run of form either. It'll be a tough game, but we're looking at it positively and hopefully can get the three points.
ON THE IMPACT OF MOTHERWELL’S NEW BOSS
We know that they'll be well up for it. Teams somehow always get a bounce when they get a new manager, so we just need to make sure we're at it right from the first minute and expect a tough game.
ON REFOCUSING FOLLOWING A DIFFICULT RUN
I don't think we're too worried at all. We know that we're a good side and we've got really good players. This form over the last few weeks is going to change at some point and hopefully it can be this weekend.
ON RETAINING A STRONG POSITION IN THE TABLE
We're sitting in a strong position in fourth. Our aim coming into the season was to stay up and then obviously we've achieved that, so now our aim is to try and get to top six and see where we can go from there.
We are a really good side, we've had a really strong season, so hopefully we can finish it off positively as well.
ON A SEASON OF UPS AND DOWNS PERSONALLY
It was a good start for myself, then I got a hamstring injury, so I was out for about eight weeks. The team were doing so well, so I couldn't get back into the side and that's just football. Over these last few weeks, I've been in and out, but now I'm looking to hold my place in the team and finish the season off strongly.
ON THE FRUSTRATION OF BEING SIDELINED
Everyone's frustrated when they're not playing and when they're sitting on the bench - you've just got to be ready for an opportunity to come back into the team.
I'm looking to get a good run in the side from now to the end of the season.
ON THE STEELMEN’S UNPREDICTABILITY
We've played Motherwell three times already this season, so I think it'll be a completely different game from the previous outings against them. We've just got to play our own game at the end of the day and not get too sucked into what Motherwell are going to do.
ON COMPETITION FOR PLACES BEING BENEFICIAL
That's a good quality and every good team has healthy competition. It keeps players on their toes, keeps everyone playing well, knowing that if they slip up they might be out of the team because you've always got people there ready to step in when needed.
ON A DEFINING WEEK AHEAD
We look at these next three games and can see them as winnable games, but we don't look too far ahead. It’s an old cliché, but we take each game as it comes. But it's brilliant as a player having so many games coming up. You always want to play instead of training because that's what your job is really, to play games!
I think this will be a really defining week in our season.
ON HAVING HOME ADVANTAGE
We've got a good home record this season and that comes down to the fans. They're always there for us, cheering us on and we need that over the next two games. Hopefully, we get a good turnout from them.
ON TAKING THIS OPPORTUNITY TO CONSOLIDATE OUR PLACE IN THE TOP SIX
We know it's a strong league, it’s been very tight this season and every team can beat every team. We can't get too complacent and we don't look too far ahead or too far below us, we just need to focus on ourselves.
