Dundee United is thrilled to announce that Will Ferry has been awarded the August MKM Player of the Month.
Ferry, who joined the club this summer from Cheltenham, was the first of thirteen recruits to put pen to paper at the club in preparation for our return to the top flight in Scottish Football.
Immediate Impact
The 23-year-old wideman has made an immediate impact, following on from starting all four of our Premier Sports group stage matches in July. Will has gone on to start in all three of the club's William Hill Scottish Premiership matches during August.
He made his league debut in the pulsating 2-2 draw at home against Dundee to kick off the season in front of the Sky cameras, followed by the 1-1 draw away to Ross County in the Highlands, and the 2-0 victory over St Johnstone at home securing an unbeaten start to the new league campaign.
Progression in the cup
Ferry also played a crucial role in the team’s Premier Sports Cup campaign, helping the club secure a place in the quarter-finals in the win over St Mirren - setting up Ross Graham's winner. An accurate delivery from his left-footed corner for the big defender to head the only goal of the game.

Ever Present
To date, the left-sided wide man has started in all nine of our competitive fixtures following his move north of the border, accumulating over 1100 minutes of action in the Premiership and Premier Sports Cup.
Collective Effort
Reflecting on the award, Ferry expressed his gratitude and emphasized the collective effort of the team. "It's nice to get a little bit of recognition, but I think it goes hand in hand with how we've all performed," Ferry said. He also shared his delight at how quickly he has settled into life at Dundee United, adding, "I'm loving life, I'm loving playing, I'm loving being here. we can only strive to get even better."
Manager Jim Goodwin added, "Will is someone both myself and the recruitment department were delighted to get in the door during the summer window."
"He has grasped the opportunity he's been given with both hands since arriving and proving to be a hit already with the supporters. His professionalism and attitude in training and on the field every time he pulls on the jersey for the club hasn't gone unnoticed, as he is both combative and consistent in his performances."
"I'm delighted for Will he has settled in very quickly at the club and that has been evident in those performances since the start of the season."
Congratulations Will on this well-deserved accolade, and here’s to more success in the months ahead!
