TANNADICE PARK SUPPORTER UPDATE

14th September 2023

Dundee United can provide an update for supporters attending matches at Tannadice Park.

THE QUIET ZONE

Following recent feedback and discussions with supporters, we are pleased to confirm that an area of the stadium has been identified as a space for spectators and carers to enjoy matches at Tannadice from a quiet location.

We are aware that some supporters may find a matchday environment tense or stressful and this decision has been made to create a more comfortable and enjoyable experience at our stadium for all supporters.

The area will be available from our home cinch Championship match against Queen’s Park on Saturday 30 September 2023. Full details will be announced ahead of the fixture although these spaces will be available on a first-come first-serve advanced booking basis.

The club continues to strive for wider access to matches which are outlined in our Supporters Charter and Club Policies documents.

THE SINGING SECTION

Following a trial at our home cinch Championship match versus Airdrieonians, we can confirm that the singing section will remain in place in the lower section of the Eddie Thompson stand. This will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

The decision to keep the singing section has been taken after significant discussion with key stakeholders and overwhelming support from Dundee United fans who attend matches at Tannadice. This area gives like-minded fans an opportunity to showcase their support for the team whilst adding to the matchday atmosphere at Tannadice Park.

Speaking after the Airdrieonians match, Manager Jim Goodwin said, “The atmosphere was great. The noise from the stand with the drums and the singing section was a big help in the end to spur the players on.”

Chris Garland, our Safety Officer and Head of Facilities and Stadium Operations added, “Tannadice Park should be accessible to all supporters, and we are aware that some fans may require additional support or requirements on a matchday.

“Although we are restricted by the layout and geography of Tannadice, we have worked closely with our commercial team to provide a quiet area of the stadium for those who need it.

“After discussions with all parties, we feel this is the best possible solution to cater for these supporters whilst also maintaining a positive and energetic atmosphere inside the stadium bowl.”

Dundee United Football Club remain committed to encouraging all supporters to attend football at Tannadice Park.
