Dundee United met high flying Livingston this afternoon at Tannadice with Alex Smith bringing in Stephen Carson to provide wing play on the right along with Jim Paterson on the left side. Up front Jim Hamilton was partnered by Stef McConalogue.
United came in to this match well fired up and hassled the skilful Almondvale side out of their stride. Despite that, Livingston started the first quarter of an hour with the upper hand but the Tangerines persistence paid off as the home side took control for the remainder of the first half.McConalogue and Hamilton came close but the interval score was 0-0 with United clearly the better side.
United began the second half as they had ended the first, the better side and on the attack. Stef McConalogue (pictured) led the line superbly well and the home side totally dominated the first twenty five minutes of the second period. Livingston then came back into the match and there was the danger that in a match that United had put so much into, they might end up with nothing. As it was, United took a point and kept a clean sheet in the SPL for the first time since Round Three in the SPL on the 11th of August. FULL MATCH REPORT TO FOLLOW IN RESULTS SECTION
