Dundee United FC are delighted to confirm that we have renewed our long-standing agreement with the University of St Andrews to utilise their facilities as our Training Centre on a long-term basis.
Officially moving to St Andrews in 2009, the Saints Sport University Park has been a mainstay for the first team ever since, whilst simultaneously providing a training base for several of the club’s development squads over the years.
Access to their state-of-the-art facilities will provide a platform for the Manager, staff and players to prepare for the new season and beyond in an elite environment.
The renewal also reaffirms the Chairman’s commitment to maintain and protect the infrastructure of the club in order to ensure we are in the strongest possible position to become both sustainable and successful.
Chief Executive, Luigi Capuano, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement.
"We’re delighted to renew our agreement with the University of St Andrews. Their facilities are second-to-none, allowing us to offer our squad and staff a fantastic environment in which to work on a day-to-day basis.
"The renewal will also see all development players from U18s upwards officially return to St Andrews following a period of training within Dundee.
Gary Brankin, Assistant Director at Saints Sport added: “Saints Sport are delighted to extend our long-running agreement with Dundee United FC for a further 3 years, which has seen the club use University Park as their full-time training base since 2009.
"Having a professional football club based on site all-year round at Saints Sport highlights the quality of the top-class sports facilities students have access to whilst studying at St Andrews, and the reputation the University has developed for providing a unique and professional training environment."
