Dundee United are thrilled to launch our official, limited-edition, Champions '83 Commemorative Book.
On the 14th of May 1983, hoisted on his team’s shoulders, Jim McLean finally gave off a smile, as United sealed a historic Scottish Premier Division title win at Dens Park.
To celebrate our most iconic achievement, the club have proudly produced an exclusive official Champions ’83 commemorative book.
On the 40th Anniversary of our silver-kissing season, the book - sponsored by Quest Precision Engineering - paints a vivid picture and takes you on a journey through our 1982-83 campaign.
The book has been commissioned to Steve Finan, renowned for his ‘Jim McLean Dundee United Legend’ and ‘Lifted Over the Turnstiles’ publications.
Steve has dedicated the book to United fans – both those still with us and those who have passed away – with a list of names proudly displayed on the opening page.
The Dundee United devoted author details an account of the season, including players' recollections and the fans’ stories. As Steve himself said: “This isn’t just a football book; it is a social document.
“We’d like to think of grandchildren and great-grandchildren opening the book in years to come, seeing their forebears’ names scribed into United history”.
A limited run of 1,983 books will be produced in total, each of which is numbered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Priced at only £29.99, pre-orders are now available online!
The first 350 to order their book (plus those who ordered a personalised copy) will be invited to a signing event with members of our title-winning squad.
Full details on the event will be released in due course - with invites sent out via email. Book release date TBC.
