Our skipper was on media duties this week ahead of our cinch Premiership clash with Celtic at Tannadice.
United went close to a point on the road in our last meeting with Ange Postecoglou's side, and Ryan is looking to keep pushing in the right direction.
"We had a good performance at a difficult venue, and we probably should have seen the game out to come away with a point."
"We’re in a better place right now than when Celtic visited Tannadice earlier this season. We know it’s going to be a difficult game but all we can do is focus on ourselves and ensure we do our best to come out with a positive result."
After what he admits was a challenging start to the season, Ryan is focused on looking ahead as we aim to climb the table.
"It was a crazy period for everyone both individually and as a group. It’s in the past now and we’re now looking forward. We’re still nowhere near where we want to or need to be, but we’re on the right path.
“Everyone wants success, and we as players and staff are no different. When you get to the end of the season, you’ll reflect on all the games in which a pivotal moment swayed things. The recent games against Hearts and Hibs are good examples of when we lost late goals.
“The penalty we conceded late against Hearts was out of our control, but a bit of sloppiness at the end cost us two points at Easter Road,” he said, adding, “I think, however, we are on the right path to where we are aiming and with a number of games before the split, we will be doing all we can to climb the table.”
