After securing our passage into the Last 16 of the Scottish Cup with a comfortable win over University of Stirling, we're back on league duty this Sunday as we face Celtic.
Opponent Lowdown
Celtic's relentless pursuit of the title sees them sit nine points ahead of closest challengers Rangers, on course to claim their tenth championship in seasons.
The only blot on the Glasgow outfit's copybook this season came in Paisley when strikes from Mark O'Hara and Jonah Ayunga saw St Mirren claim a shock 2-0 win over the Champions.
Kyogo Furuhashi tops the Scottish Premiership scoring charts with 17, whilst Matt O'Riley leads the way with assists - bagging eight in 22 matches.
Celtic have endured a relatively busy January transfer window, again dipping into the Asian market to secure swoops for Oh Hyeon-Gyu and Yuki Kobayashi from Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Vissel Kobe respectively.
Canadian World Cup breakout star Alistair Johnston also joined the green and white ranks from Montreal, however, the loss of fellow full-back Josip Juranovic to Bundesliga surprise package Union Berlin will perhaps weaken Ange Postecoglou's side heading into the final months of the season
The Hoops join United in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup, after drubbing Greenock Morton 5-0 at Parkhead last weekend.
United's last joust with Celtic ended in agonising fashion despite a resilient and spirited performance. The Terrors fought back from a goal behind not once but twice, with Steven Fletcher converting a first-half penalty and Dylan Levitt picking out the far corner with a cross-cum-shot. This proved futile, however, as Celtic found the back of the net twice in stoppage time to run out eventual 4-2 victors.
Davie Dods netted 13 times against Celtic between 1979-86 - the club's record scorer in this fixture. He's closely followed by fellow title-winning hero Eamonn Bannon on 11.
Both Charlie Mulgrew and Tony Watt have pulled on the green and white hoops throughout their respective careers, the latter writing himself into Celtic folklore with an iconic strike against Spanish giants Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. Mulgrew boasts seven major honours from his time in Glasgow, including five Premiership titles.
A festive cracker back in 2014 brought our last victory over Sunday's opponents, Nadir Çiftci the hero at Tannadice with his eighth goal of the season before going on to turn provider for Stuart Armstrong's close-range header. A nerve-wracking final few moments ensued when Leigh Griffiths halved the deficit with three minutes to play but United rode out the storm to close the gap at the top of the table to four points.
