JARVIE IN GOAL FOR UNDER-21’S

19th November 2001

The United Under-21 team go into this evening’s match with Motherwell at Tannadice Park on the back of an excellent recent run of form. With three wins in a row, the Young Tangerines will face a Fir Park side who defeated bottom of the table Dundee last week without the services of keeper Alan Combe. Combe, who had saved two penalties and lost only one goal in his last four outings for the Under-21’s, has taken ill and 19-year old Aberdeen born Paul Jarvie will take his place between the sticks this evening. Coach Maurice Malpas takes up the story. “Paul will play as will David McCracken and Ronnie O’Brien. It will roughly be the same squad that has been successful during the past five weeks. Stephen Carson returns after his international stint and young Steven Anderson who has just turned 16 will be in the squad for the first time this evening following good performances for the Youth team.” The match kicks off at 7.00pm with season ticket holders gaining free admission on production of their Season Ticket book. Pay at-the-gate is £2 and £1 for concessions.
