United's CIS Cup Quarter-Final tomorrow at Easter Road has had an impact on team selection for this evening's SPL Under-21 League match against Rangers. Although this will be a home match for the Ibrox side, it will take place at Dumbarton's new ground, the Strathclyde Homes stadium.
"Obviously because of our match against Hibernian tomorrow, the Under-21 team that has performed so well in previous weeks will change," commented Coach Maurice Malpas. "Youngsters such as Reilly, Curran and Winters, who have had to be patient, will get their chance tonight. Further, because of their good performances in the Youth team, lads such as McGowan, Wilson and Callaghan will be involved in the squad."
Having taken 13 points from a possible 15 in their last five matches, Maurice is well aware of the task ahead in tonight's game. "It will be a difficult match against Rangers but the youngsters are looking forward to it. We will be asking Combe, Partridge, Wright and Buchan (pictured above), to help guide the youngsters through the game."
The match kicks off at 7.00pm
