JIM MCLEAN STATUE UNVEIL TO BE STREAMED LIVE ON YOUTUBE

17th September 2021

Doris McLean and sons Gary and Colin alongside extended family will unveil the Jim McLean Statue on Saturday evening in a private ceremony at Tannadice.

The event will be streamed live on Dundee United’s YouTube channel and will be free to view from 5.30pm to allow football fans the world over the opportunity to see the statue as it is revealed for the first time in its final location. We ask that people do not attend Tannadice at this time.

Thereafter there will be an opportunity for the public to visit the site from 6.30pm until 8pm on Saturday and 9am onwards on Sunday ahead of the home fixture versus Dundee at noon.

The statue is situated on Club grounds at the top of the ramp up to the Eddie Thompson stand and will be available for public viewing from Monday morning onwards.

Minute’s applause on Sunday

On Sunday at 11.55am at the derby match, there will be a minute’s applause to celebrate the achievements of Jim and to mark the installation of his statue. Members of the McLean family will be attending the match as boardroom guests of the Club.

The minute’s applause will be followed directly by a fan’s display in both the George Fox and Eddie Thompson stands so we ask supporters attending the game to arrive in plenty of time.

Fans attending the derby on Sunday should also be advised that Covid passports are not applicable for sporting events yet and Covid-19 good practice should be utilised ahead of the game with face masks required as a precaution.
