LENNON WALKER JOINS THE SPARTANS FC ON LOAN

We can confirm that Our Academy graduate Lennon Walker has joined Lowland League side The Spartans FC on a season-long loan as he looks to continue his development from academy to first-team player.

The 17-year-old has been a regular for the Under-18s over the last couple of seasons having signed his professional contract at Tannadice in February 2020.

The young attacking midfielder got a taste of first-team experience last season when he featured on the bench for our Scottish Cup match against Partick Thistle.

Brian Grant, Head of Player Pathway and Loans, said: "With Lennon having now aged out of the Under-18s squad, and another season without a reserve league, it was important he gets regular game time this season which is key at his age. That is why we think it's best that he heads out and gets that opportunity at a good level, with a team that will look to be one of the top teams in the Lowland League.

"We've had a successful partnership with The Spartans FC in the past with Archie Meekison and Jake Davidson going on loan there in recent years. We know he's going to a good environment that will help him take that next step in his development."
