Dundee United is delighted to confirm the appointment of Tony Caig as the club's new Goalkeeping Coach.
Following an esteemed playing career at the likes of Carlisle United, Hibernian and Newcastle United, Tony moved into coaching in 2006 as player coach of Vancouver Whitecaps and has vast experience across both England and Scotland.
Tony joined Livingston in 2018 as Goalkeeping Coach and spent a brief spell as interim co-manager alongside David Martindale. Following the end of last season, he joined Falkirk as Goalkeeping Coach but has decided his future now lies at Tannadice.
“I am delighted to be appointed as Goalkeeping Coach at Dundee United," said Tony. "I feel that I’m joining the club at a really exciting time. I can’t wait to get started working with the staff, players and, especially, the goalkeepers up at the High-Performance Centre."
Head Coach Tam Courts added: "We are really pleased to have secured Tony as our new Head of Goalkeeping. He brings with him a wealth of experience as a player and coach, which is something that strengthens our staff and provides our Goalkeepers with daily access to one of the most respected goalkeeping coaches in the game.
"Modern goalkeeping is evolving all the time and I want our Goalkeepers to have the best service so that they can keep developing and have maximum impact on the pitch."
