SEASON TICKET SALES RISE CONTINUES

29th November 2001

United Season Ticket sales are on the rise again following the launch of the "Half Season Ticket." Valid from the match against Hearts on the 26th of December, these tickets are often purchased as a Christmas gift and the Club are hopeful that the 5,300 barrier will be broken in the near future.

"Season Ticket sales at Tannadice this campaign were already at record figures at just over the 5,200 mark prior to the launch of the Half Season Ticket," stated Commercial Manager Bill Campbell (pictured above left)."The increase in numbers is right across the entire age spectrum with many new adults and young United fans. It is vital that we have a conveyor belt of the next generations of supporters. To that end, I am delighted that our Official Junior Supporters clubs, the Young Lions and Young Arabs, have recorded an increase in membership over last season by over 200 bringing the total to almost 2,000."

Bill was keen to promote the Half Season Ticket as an excellent Christmas present idea. "They represents great value and with United sitting fifth in the SPL at present and with home matches against Hearts and Celtic coming up, I am optimistic that we can continue to sell many more. Figures are currently standing at over 5,260 and we will be disappointed if we don't break the 5,300 barrier."
