United Manager Alex Smith felt that we could have done better than a 1-1 draw at the weekend. "We could and should have taken our chances to win the game. As it turned out, a very difficult chance well taken was needed to salvage a point and in the end we were happy with it."
Alex was delighted with the brief contribution of Stephen McConalogue. "From our point of view, it was encouraging that one of our young prodigies, Stephen McConalogue, has returned to something of the form he is capable of and the goal should give him confidence."
The Manager's attention turned to tomorrow's CIS match with Hibernian. "We are all looking forward to the Quarter-Final at Easter Road and I feel strongly that success in the Cup brings success in the League and will assist in the self-belief process.
To defeat Hibs (pictured above Laursen and Hamilton in action during United's 3-1 victory on 13th October), we need to get back to where we were a few weeks ago when we beat them at Tannadice. It will be a different tie this time round. The fact that they have had a few bad results recently will not make the match any easier."
The match kicks off at 7.45pm and is pay-at-the-gate.
