We are pleased to announce that Our Academy has entered into an exciting new Player Development Partnership with Box Soccer Training.
Having recently celebrated their tenth anniversary in Dundee and Perth, Box Soccer Training was founded by former Dundee United youth coach Ian Cathro allowing for us to always share a strong link.
Box Soccer Training will give talented kids in Angus, Dundee & Perth another great opportunity to develop and progress into Our Academy, predominantly benefitting out Pre-Academy players aged 7-10 with intensive technical sessions.
Already Dundee United has seen the benefits of Box Soccer Training at Tannadice. Several players who have come through Our Academy have a background with BST including recent graduates Kerr Smith Finn Robson, Flynn Duffy & Layton Bisland along with previous graduates Ryan Gauld and John Souttar.
Not only is this an exciting opportunity for our kids, but also our coaches whose development can continue to grow as they learn alongside and collaborate with the Box Soccer Training team.
Kit Bremner Box Soccer Head of Development for Dundee & Perth, said: "We teach technique to young players, but more importantly have an actual direction within that. If I'm doing a skill where do I do that in order to protect the ball from the defender, and in relation to the game where does my next thought go to.
"We average 1000 touches per session and those are touches which are relevant to the game. They're relevant to developing the young players and how they understand their game."
Kit will also form part of our new Individual Performance Team as we continue to focus on developing the individual player through their own unique tailored IPPs.
