Our seven loan players saw plenty of action over the weekend from the north of Scotland to the south of Ireland.
It started on Friday night with Our Academy graduate Archie Meekison playing the full 90 mins for The Spartans in their Challenge Cup 1st round tie v Kinnoull FC. 18-year-old Archie scored with a subtle left-foot finish to complete the scoring in 4-0 win for the Edinburgh-based team.
Defender Ross Graham was an unused sub in Cove Rangers win at Peterhead. Still, fellow Our Academy graduate Kieran Freeman played the full 90 mins for the Balmour outfit and he will have been disappointed to be on the losing side to the table-topping Cove Rangers.
Midfielder Florent Hoti was instrumental in Forfar's excellent 1-1 away draw with Falkirk; the 19-year-old played the full 90 mins as the Loons came from behind to secure a point at a challenging venue.
17-year-old midfielder Chris Mochrie had another fine performance in Montrose 2-2 draw to East Fife, although not on the scoresheet he played his part in Montrose's comeback from 2-0 down to gain a point in another challenging away game at Bayview. Our Academy graduate Chris saw 88 minutes of action.
Cammy Smith played his part in Ayr United's 1- 1 away draw with Inverness Caley, his surging run and assist led to Ayr taking the lead but the Honest Men couldn't hold on and lost a late equaliser.
Jake Davidson starred again in his 12th straight start for Waterford in their impressive 1-0 home win over Dundalk in the Irish Premier division yesterday. With one league game to go, they find themselves just outside the qualifying spot for Europe. The loan spell has been an excellent experience for Jake and his transition has been made a lot easier with his former Our Academy graduates Matty Smith and Ali Coote there to keep him company.
