TRUST APPOINTS FIRST CHIEF EXECUTIVE

1st November 2019

Dundee United Community Trust (DUCT) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Kirk as their first Chief Executive.

The growth and success of the Trust in the past 30 months in particular has been terrific and the change allows Jamie to focus on leading the Trust in the delivery of DUCT's ambitious strategic plans for the next five years.  Paul Wilson becomes Head of Community Development as part of the reshuffle and will take responsibility for oversight of the projects delivered by the Trust and act as a key support for staff members.

David Dorward, Chairperson for DUCT said, “The Board and myself are delighted to announce the promotion of Jamie to Chief Executive and Paul to Head of Community Development.  Both have shown excellent leadership and initiative in driving the Trust forward as shown by being selected as the Best Professional Club in the Community and we see their promotion as the next important step in the advancement of the Trust.  DUCT has recently approved its five-year strategic plan and we have ambitions to improve the quantity and quality of our work in and for the local community.”

Jamie Kirk added, “It’s a real honour to be appointed as Chief Executive of the Trust and I’m grateful to the Trustees for the faith they have shown in me and my team.  This change clearly shows how much the Trust has grown and I’m excited by what the future holds for us, our participants and partners.  I’d like to extend a personal thanks to all of our staff members and volunteers for the work they do and the support they provide to the Trust."

Paul Wilson commented “I am very excited and privileged to become Head of Community Development within Dundee United Community Trust.  The confidence shown from both the Board of Trustees and Jamie is a clear indicator that the Trust is committed to investing in people, whether that be existing employees already within the Trust or in the wider community.  I’m looking forward to continuing to work with our excellent staff and volunteers to reach our mission of using the brand of Dundee United Football Club to improve the lives of people in Dundee and the surrounding areas.”

More information on the Trust’s new strategic plans will be available in the coming weeks and an updated impact report will be available early in 2020.
