The 2019 Open Day took place on Sunday 22 September, and the new format proved to be a great success with over 1500 fans attending.
Hosted by the Community Trust, the event saw Tannadice Street turned into a campus for the day with a large section of the street closed to cars and plenty of fun-filled options for all in attendance as the Club and Community Trust staff set about making it a bigger and better event than previous years.
A stage outside the Jim McLean Fair Play stand featured live bands including Wayne O'Hare, McDonalds Farm, Tape Deck 45, Headroom and Swizzle Sisters.
The Club store was bustling on the day - thanks largely to the Jim McLean maquette that was on display in the window. If you missed this, you could still see it in its temporary home within the United in Memories exhibition - currently featuring a Jim McLean Years display and open every Wednesday afternoon from 1.00-3.30pm.
The inflatable kids play area and face painting station, situated in Neish Street, proved very popular and remained busy throughout the event.
The #Tangerine50 Abbey road crossing was also a great hit with fans both young and old with many taking the opportunity to recreate the famous album cover image.
A first-team training session took part on the Tannadice pitch as fans flocked into the Eddie Thompson Stand to watch before enjoying a penalty shoot out and crossbar challenge.
The fun continued out on the streets before the main event - the player's meet and greet. Six stations were set up around the campus, and the patient crowds all got the opportunity to get autographs and selfies with the first-team squad and Robbie Neilson.
As the players were announced onto the street by Club patron's Brian Taylor and Andy Nicol, it was a fantastic sight to see Tannadice Street full of fans and players enjoying the occasion.
The event would not have been possible had it not been for the many staff, volunteers, supporters and friends of the Club who helped make it a massive success. Thank you to every single person who attended and helped make it a massive success.
