Dundee United is working with the Dundee United Supporters' Foundation (DUSF) towards accessibility improvements within Tannadice for people with disabilities.
The Club and DUSF have agreed to pool proceeds from the recent 25th anniversary of the 1994 Scottish Cup win dinner - the first joint production between the Club and DUSF.
The event, held in the Invercarse Hotel on Friday 24 May, was attended by 320 United supporters and the majority of profits from the evening are to be donated towards measures that will improve the accessibility of Tannadice.
Initially, the plan was to share proceeds 50/50, but after discussions between Chairman Mark Ogren, Managing Director Mal Brannigan and representatives from DUSF, it was decided to look at improving accessibility at Tannadice.
Disability Access Officer Moira Hughes said, "Dundee United is committed to improving all areas of the matchday experience, including accessibility for people with disabilities.
"We are delighted with the donation from DUSF, and the Club will look forward to announcing the areas of improvement in due course. This is a great opportunity to make our fans who live with disability feel more included on matchdays."
Ged Bell of the Dundee United Supporters' Foundation said, "After the resounding success of our first joint production with the club I am sure that everyone who attended will be delighted that their monies are going towards making the matchday experience better and safer for our fellow supporters. We are grateful to the club for agreeing to pool the dinner profits for this wonderful initiative."
It is expected that the joint proceeds will be around £15,000 and DUSF also presented a cheque for £500 to the Fans' Display team to recognise the great work they do. DUSF also raised over £900 to the Jim McLean Statue fund. The money was raised by auctioning the 2014 Ibrox cup semi-final match ball, kindly donated by Jim Devlin.
