Dundee United Community Trust are delighted to announce that their school Soccer Centres, delivered at local primary schools, will be free to attend.
At present, Dundee United Community Trust engage with roughly 140 children during each block of Soccer Centres and hope that removing the cost of the sessions will help them engage with much more children, in particular those who struggled to afford attending previously, and new schools.
Paul Wilson, Community Coaching Manager, commented: “Despite removing the cost to attend our Soccer Centres, we will not be removing any quality from the programme – sessions will still be delivered by contracted, paid staff who have a wealth of experience and qualifications; and children who attend each block will still receive a free U16 ticket and half price adult ticket to a Dundee United FC match.”
Paul added: “We feel removing the cost to our Soccer Centres is 100% the correct thing to do for the children of Dundee. With this potential barrier now gone, we hope to see more children taking part in physical activity that can help enhance their social skills, too."
Dundee United Community Trust currently delivers Soccer Centres at Balgarthno Campus (Camperdown/St Clements RC PS), Ballumbie PS, Forthill PS, Mill of Mains PS & St Andrews RC PS.
