'WEAR IT TANGERINE' ALZHEIMER AWARENESS EVENT THIS SUNDAY

Dundee United and Dundee United Community Trust have joined forces with leading charity Alzheimer Scotland to raise funds for local services.

The Club will host a bucket collection at the upcoming William Hill Scottish Cup tie versus Ross County/Inverness CT and all purchases in the Club store on that day will see 10% given to the charity.

Very few, if any, in the Dundee United family will be untouched by the spread of Dementia and the Club has a long-standing relationship with dementia awareness through Amanda Kopel's tireless efforts to push through Frank's Law in memory of her husband and ex-United player Frank Kopel.

Alzheimer Scotland is the leading dementia organisation in Scotland and provides an extensive range of innovative and personalised support services.

Dundee United's Head of Business Development Paul Reid said: "We all know someone who lives with Dementia. I am delighted that alongside Just Sport we can donate 10% of all profits made on Sunday within the Club Shop to the local services of Alzheimer Scotland. As many United fans as possible wearing tangerine will make for a spectacular environment but also raise awareness for a great cause."

Dundee United's Community Trust's Chairman David Dorward said: "The Trust is delighted to support this initiative for a cause very close to our hearts. Supporting those with Dementia is of real importance to the Trust and its great to be able to strengthen our relationship with Alzheimer Scotland – with whom we partner on facilitating monthly reminiscence project “Football Memories”. I’d encourage every supporter to get right behind this initiative on what we hope will be a great day all round for the United Family.”
