Goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet has accepted the Club's offer of continued training facilities beyond his contract, which expired yesterday, as he nears full fitness.
The 26-year-old Londoner was injured celebrating a United goal in the Championship Play-off Quarter-Final against Dunfermline at Tannadice Park in May 2018.
Shortly after, Deniz extended his contract until 31 January 2019, as the Club gave him full support in his recuperation from the freak injury.
Deniz said, "My focus currently is on reaching full fitness and I thank United for allowing the opportunity to continue training alongside my teammates. I have loved my time at United and from the fans to the staff, I have made many friends. I have enjoyed being part of a great club and a fantastic community.
"I would like to wish United the very best and every success in gaining promotion this season.
"Over the next few weeks or so I will look to return to full fitness and will then pursue the next stage of my football career."
Dundee United thanks Deniz for his considerable commitment and application during his time as a United player and wish him every success in his future football career.
