Match Preview

Dundee United go into Saturday’s game versus table toppers Ayr United with Laurie Ellis once again at the helm. After this week’s departure of Csaba Laszlo, Ellis takes charge as interim manager for the second time in his United career and will be looking for an instant reaction after last weekend’s 5-1 defeat at the hands of Ross County.
United will be without Nicky Clark and Fraser Aird as the two ex Pars are sidelined with injuries. Fraser Fyvie continues his return to match fitness and is likely to feature.
United’s defence will have to be at its best as Ayr’s Lawrence Shankland looks to add to his 17 goals so far this season. Ian McCall’s side have had an impressive start to their campaign and the ex-United boss will be keen to extend the good run of the Honest Men.
United’s last encounter with the Ayrshire side resulted in a 0-0 draw at Somerset Park back in April 2017, and United fans will be hoping the side can go one better this weekend and give Ellis a much needed victory.
