United were given a home tie against St. Johnstone when the draw for the 3rd Round of the CIS Cup was made today.
Airdrieonians' great start to the season has been rewarded with a lucrative match at Ibrox and everyone at Stirling Albion will be equally pleased to be heading to Celtic Park. Recent cup rivals Aberdeen and Livi meet again but the atmosphere at Pittodrie is likely to be matched, at least, by the pairing of the two Ayrshire clubs at Somerset Park.
The full draw, which includes Scotland's European representatives for the first time this season, is as follows.
Rangers v Airdrieonians
Raith Rovers v Hibernian
Dunfermline Athletic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Dundee United v St Johnstone
Aberdeen v Livingston
Ross County v Dundee
Celtic v Stirling Albion
Ayr United v Kilmarnock.
All matches will be played on 9 or 10 October but Celtic's game against Stirling will take place on either 6 or 7 November because of the Glasgow club's Champions League involvement.
