Arabs and Silver Kissers Turn Out For Dillo

22nd March 2017

Over 3000 Arabs turned out tonight to celebrate ten years service by Club Captain Seân Dillon and witnessed an entertaining 2-2 with visitors Hearts. Ex-terrors including Christian Kalvenes, John Rankin, Noel Hunt, Jordan Moore, Paul Gallacher, Stuart Duff, Garry Kenneth, Lee Wilkie, Mark Kerr, Barry Robson, Steven Robb, Jon Daly, Craig Conway, Dave Bowman, Andy McLaren and Danny Swanson appeared alongside current United players against a strong Hearts team made up of first-team players but also including ex-United man Andy Webster and Seân's ex-team mate Prince Buaben alongside Hearts legend John Robertson. The moment of the night came in the final minute when Seân's son - six-year-old Shéa - came on to score the equalising goal in front of the Eddie Thompson Stand. Seân himself kicked-off the game before retiring to the dugout due to the injury picked up against St Mirren last week. United first goal was scored by Hunt, but it was a vintage United team goal. Robson hit a deep corner to the back post, and Daly rose above the defence to float a header back across goal for Hunt to knock home from two yards. The understanding between Daly and Hunt as fantastic today as it was some ten years or so ago. At the final whistle, Seân made his way back out onto the pitch to receive an excellent round of applause by the Arabs to end a beautiful night on a high. Highlights from the evening event will be broadcast on ArabZONE.
