Dundee United host their 2017 Hall of Fame dinner tonight at the Invercarse Hotel, and the event is sold out.
There are four new inductees this year, and in this article, we look at European hero Ian Redford.
Davie was a Scotland international who joined United in August 1967 from Rangers along with Wilson Wood, in part exchange for Orjan Persson. Described in magazines at the time as 'the smallest player on the books, he is an excellent utility player'.
Davie was, in fact, an old-fashioned winger and alongsideĀ Dennis Gillespie on the other flank, the two rocked Tannadice with their exciting brand of sparkle on the wings.
For four years, Davie was a regular in the lineup making 169 appearances and scoring 27 goals until January 1972 when he left United to join Dumbarton.
Tonight, Davie's name will sit proudly alongside his fellow Hall of Famers on the roll of honour, as his family accept the award on his behalf.
