Development League Update | Ross County 3 Dundee United 1

The Young Terrors were defeated 3 - 1 by their Ross County counterparts at the Highland Football Academy, Dingwall, today. By Peter Rundo The wind, the bumpy Highland Academy pitch and the Dingwall side’s  physicality all combined to deny the Tangerines. At times, the visitors played some nice stuff, but paid the price for the lack of a cutting edge. That said, United were unlucky not to open the scoring when Aaron Murrell hit the post after a fine counter attack. The hosts took the lead after 43 minutes when Greg Morrison was on the end of a free-kick to head home. The Tannadice side almost levelled through defender Scott Reekie, but fell further behind to a terrific Tom MacLennan strike from 18 yards ten minutes after restart.. On 63 minutes, the visitors pulled one back when Ali Coote converted a penalty after Chris McLaughlin had brought down Matty Smith. Two former Tangerines were involved in the build up to the third goal that sealed a County victory after 73 minutes. A quickly taken free-kick by McLaughlin found Reghan Tumilty whose first time cross was headed in by Morrison.
