Dundee United today confirmed the appointment of Stuart Campbell as ArabTRUST's Associate Director at the Club.
Stuart, who owns a car repair business in Glenrothes, is an ardent United fan who has been a member of ArabTRUST for some years and has served on the Board of the Trust from July 2015.
He has been a season ticket holder at Dundee Utd for longer than he can remember and attended his first United game in 1980. Living in Cupar, he chose to support a club he could go and watch week in week out. As a 12-year-old he used to get the train to Dundee and walk to the ground to watch his team.
Dundee United Chairman Stephen Thompson said, “I am delighted to confirm Stuart's appointment. He is a business person with clear business acumen as well as a massive United fan. It is correct that ArabTRUST has an input into the boardroom and Stuart will bring value to the role."
Stuart's appointment means the continuation of ArabTRUST's Associate Directorship on the Dundee United Board of Directors to ensure the views of their members are represented.
Stuart said "As a life-long fan of Dundee United, I am delighted to accept the appointment as ArabTRUST's Associate Director. I look forward to working with the Chairman and other Board members to assist the Club in any way I can, whilst ensuring our members’ views are represented. As the third largest shareholder in the Club, I think it is vital that ArabTRUST contributes fully to the running of the Club with particular emphasis on the areas of Youth and Community development which form part of our key aims and objectives."
Stuart joins Laura Conway, David Dorward and Colin Stewart as Associate Directors who alongside Directors Mike Martin and David McGrory as well as Chairman Stephen Thompson make up the Board of Directors at Tannadice.
