NEW KIT PROVEN A WINNER

The proud support of the Tangerine Army has been in evidence through season ticket sales and numbers paying at the gate both at Tannadice and away grounds and that support is reinforced with kit sales numbers revealed this week. Supporters have backed this season’s new kit in huge numbers with total like-for-like sales compared to the same period last year up over an impressive 60%. Sales of all three Dundee United kits – all tangerine, all white and all vivid pink - have proved so popular with supporters that the Club is pleased to confirm new supplies have arrived in-store providing fans with an increased range of strips across most standard adult and children sizes. Additionally, the Club has ordered vivid pink mini-kits which are expected to arrive in time for the Christmas sales period. Staff in the Club’s newly refurbished Superstore have seen high demand since the launch in May with the new third kit proving particularly popular with over 80% of the original order quantity sold. David Southern, Dundee United’s General Manager, said: “There is undoubtedly renewed confidence this season given the new management team and the restructuring of the squad that has taken place in the summer transfer window. Off the field, we have also improved the business across ticketing, retail, catering and hospitality. Specifically our newly designed superstore and ticket centre have proved very popular with supporters, but the most visible reaction to recent changes has been in the retail side of the business. To date, our strip sales are up over 60% and are continuing to sell exceptionally well. So much so that we have ordered additional stock, particularly in relation to our vivid pink strip – which has proved hugely popular with fans. We will continue to innovate wherever possible and are confident that, in partnership with our retail partners, we can expand our product offering to supporters in advance of the Christmas period.” The Dundee United Superstore is open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 1pm on Saturdays with closing time on home match days being kick-off time.
