The visitors dominated the opening quarter of the match with both Sean Dillon and Brad Smith coming close and only a goal-line clearance by Jack McMillan preventing Matty Smith giving United the lead after 26 minutes.
Ironically, however, ‘Well went ahead two minutes later with their first real effort on goal, Dylan Mackin pouncing after the Tangerines failed to clear their lines.
Two minutes later, United fell further behind when Ross McLean was played in and Youto scored with a clinical finish.
Almost immediately, United had their best chance of the night when Scott Fraser was through on goal but dragged his shot wide of the far post.
Although the visitors started the second half in determined fashion, but for Mark Durnan clearing off the line, they would have fallen further behind.
The best United could muster was a glancing header from substitute Jordan Garden six minutes from time.
And the Tangerines’ tale of woe was completed with Dylan Falconer scoring a third for the Steelmen with three minutes left.
