Despite much time being taken up by transfer comings and goings Alex Smith will be giving much thought this week to Saturday's derby clash with Dundee.
"I have a fair idea of what the team for Saturday will be but there are still one or two little areas to be decided on," he revealed.
One of those 'little areas' will be who should replace the suspended Craig Easton, but any hesitancy in immediately nominating someone is solely due the number of options he has to choose from. "I've got Tassos Venetis, Hugh Davidson, Jim Paterson, Jamie Fullarton and Jim McIntyre all available to step in and, in spite of their being ruled out for much of last season, based on the pre-season work they've done I would have no hesitation in fielding either Paterson or Fullarton," he said.
With so many of the long-term injured now restored to full fitness Alex Smith may have some difficult choices to make all season.
