Dev League: Dundee United 2 St Johnstone 0

15th March 2016

The Young Terrors recorded a thoroughly merited victory over St Johnstone at United’s St Andrews Training Grounds this afternoon. By Peter Rundo The Terrors scored twice but could easily have been six ahead by the interval. Justin Johnson swept home a cross from the right after 19 minutes and a couple of minutes later, Robbie Muirhead latched on to a Matty Smith flick to steer home the second from just inside the box. In what was one-way traffic towards Saints' goal, Matty Smith saw a shot cleared off the line by Liam Gordon, Ballantyne fired just wide, Johnson missed a sitter and Matty Smith was brought down for what appeared a clear cut penalty. Though the visitors had the better of the second half proceedings, it was United who should have added to their total with Matty Smith and Muirhead passing up gilt-edged chances.
