Loan striker Paul Robinson has returned to Wimbledon after failing to recover from the injury he picked up in the draw with Hearts last month. His three-month deal from the Londoners was not due to expire until May 24, but as he will not be fit for any of United's three remaining SPL games, the Dons have recalled him.
Although a mixture of injury and the good form of Derek Lilley, Jim Hamilton and Steve Thompson have restricted Robinson's appearances, there remains a chance United will move to bring him north on a permanent basis. "Things have not gone as well as Paul would have liked, but he has shown us what he can do and we will have another look at the situation in the summer," said boss Alex Smith. "While we are on the subject, I'd like to thank Wimbledon who have been very helpful with Paul."
