Dundee United has appointed Gavin Beith as the new Head Coach of the Dundee United Women’s Team.
Gavin joins with immediate effect, with his first task being to assemble a squad which will enter the SWFL next season.
The 34-year-old is currently Scottish FA Player and Coach Development Manager and brings with him a UEFA B Licence qualification and Scottish FA Advanced Youth Licence.
Gavin’s role will encompass all areas of developing the women’s team at the Club and include building the foundations to support women’s football at Dundee United for the foreseeable future.
Gavin said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to use my experience to introduce a new Dundee United women’s team and ensure that the team play in the right manner and also produce a competitive team to represent the Club in the SFWL.”
Director Justine Mitchell, who has been integral in the installation of a new women’s team at United, was delighted at Gavin's appointment, stating: “Gavin was the outstanding candidate in the many applications we received.
“His ideas on how the game should be played links in with what Dundee United as a Club believes but also what we want to encourage in the Dundee United women’s team. I believe we have the right man in place to do just that.”
The Head Coach will now begin his search for team members and he encourages females who have played football in the past but have been lost to the game and those who would like to play for Dundee United to get in touch.
Gavin reiterated: “This is an opportunity for those that have played the game previously to get back involved. We want the players to develop their skills and ability under my guidance and take Dundee United to a standing within Scottish women’s football that will make us proud.”
Trials will be held at the fantastic GA Arena on Wednesday 17th June and Wednesday 24th June (both 6.30pm). Interested parties should contact
