Beaten 6-2 in the first meeting, the Tangerines made a vastly more experienced Hibs side work very hard for this latest victory at Station Park this afternoon.

Underlining gulf between the two teams, in addition to Danny Handling who scored goals, the Easter Road side also contained first teamers Jordon Forster, Sam Stanton and Martin Boyle plus former Tannadice striker Farid El Alagui, continuing his comeback from injury.
So it was to United side’s great credit that they held their more illustrious opponents until 12 minutes from time.
For all the territorial advantage the visitors enjoyed in the first half, they were limited to only a few clear-cut chances.
Apart from United keeper Joe McGovern denying El Alagui and palming a Stanton free-kick over the bar, he was largely untroubled.
And when beaten seven minutes from the interval by a Forster header, Jamie Montgomery headed off the line.
Second half, Hibs racked up the pressure, but had to wait until 78 minutes before finally making the breakthrough, Handling knocking in the rebound after Jordan Sinclair’s angled drive was blocked.
Two minutes later, the lead was doubled when Handling rounded off a good move, slotting home from 12 yards.
United’s best effort came right on the final whistle, Robbie Muirhead firing in a free-kick from 25 yards which the Hibs keeper just managed to touch on to the bar.
