Dundee United return to Paisley tomorrow to taken on St Mirren for the first time this season. The last time the two met in Paisley, United tasted a rare defeat following a fantastic run of six straight wins as St Mirren ran out 4-1 winners in controversial circumstances. On the three other occasions the teams met last season, all of which were played at Tannadice, United won on each time, including a famous 2-1 win on the way to the Scottish Cup Final.

United will once again go into the game full of confidence after three wins out of four games this season have taken them to third place in the Premiership table, one point behind surprise leaders Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Last week United dug deep to take the three points against Ross County following a late winner from Chris Erskine. St Mirren on the other hand lost to a late winner against our city neighbours, having had enough chances to win several games.
St Mirren currently sit joint bottom of the league but, as last weekend's loss showed, have been unfortunate to have not picked up anything from their opening three games. They will be all the more hungry to put that right on Saturday and maintain their impressive record against United in Paisley, with only one defeat since season 2010/11. However, with United more than capable of turning on the style, bringing three points back to Tannadice is the aim. If any more motivation was required, depending on results elsewhere, a win may well be enough to take United to the top of the league!!!
Come On United!
