There are only a couple of days remaining until United play their biggest game of the season so far.
By Gareth Scott
Sunday lunchtime sees the first of an eagerly anticipated double header against city rivals and newly promoted Dundee. The teams play each other in the cup on Wednesday at Tannadice, however first things first is the mouthwatering league match at Dens on Sunday.
With the game a sell out and live on television , there is so much to play for, not least the bragging rights in the city. Dundee have started the season well, however United are joint top of the table and three points ahead of Paul Hartley's men and will be determined to extend that lead and hold on to top spot.
As all Arabs know, Dens Park has been a happy hunting ground over the years. Two years ago, when Dundee were last in the top division, United won twice at Dens as well as winning and drawing in the games at Tannadice. Therefore the United players will be confident albeit against a far stronger Dundee outfit. It's been ten years since the Dark Blues won a competitive derby and United will need to be at their best to win.
United will be without talisman Nadir Ciftci due to suspension but Mario Bilate will look to lead the line in his absence. With Dow and Armstrong hopefully back in the squad it will be a confident United who make the short walk over to Dens come Sunday. For the supporters lucky enough to have secured a ticket, enjoy the match and sing loud and proud in your support of the Terrors!
United end tickets for this game are completely sold out but 30 tickets have been returned are available on a strictly first come first served basis over the counter only.
The ticket office is open from 9am until 1pm on Saturday.
Please note all pre-ordered tickets must be collected by 1pm on Saturday.
