JORDAN'S STORY

23rd June 2014

Malignant melanoma incidence rates in Britain have more than quadrupled over the last 30 years. Striker Jordan Moore is determined to raise awareness - and funds - to prevent others having to go through the trauma he recently went through.

Jordan said, "I was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer in January and subsequently had to go through two major operations. I have been lucky in that it was noticed early and acted on very quickly but others are not so fortunate.

"I hope to raise awareness and money to try to save others the ordeal of such a horrible experience. I am running the Glasgow half marathon in October alongside my dad Gordon, brothers Aaron and Nathan and around ten other friends and family. I have set up a just giving page for anyone wishing to donate.

"Every penny raised will go towards this worthwhile cause. If someone reads this and it causes them to check out any skin issues that are concerning them, that itself will be worth it. I cannot wait to be back playing football for United and that would not have been possible had I not checked with my doctor when I was concerned."
