The late Frank Kopel will be remembered at this year's William Hill Scottish Cup Final, forty years after he played in Dundee United's first ever Scottish Cup final. In tribute to his memory, his wife Amanda will take his place as Dundee United's Club Legend in the pre match ceremonies at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Together with St Johnstone Club Legend Roddy Grant, Amanda will walk from the tunnel with the trophy, raise the trophy to the fans and then place the trophy on a plinth on the pitch.
Frank Kopel was the first signing made by manager Jim McLean and for almost a decade was a fixture in the side at left-back, making 407 appearances for the Club.
He was part of the side which won the Club's first ever major trophy in 1979 and a member of the team that reached the Scottish Cup final for the first time in 1974. His outstanding contribution to Dundee United was recognised by his induction into the Club's Hall of Fame in 2011.
Frank passed away in April this year at the age of just 65 and the Club is delighted that Amanda has accepted this invitation to represent both Dundee United and her late husband at this year's William Hill Scottish Cup Final.
