Tannadice Park will host a Vauxhall Under-21 International Challenge Match between Scotland and Hungary on Wednesday 5 March.
The match will give Under-21 coach Billy Stark a chance to cast his eye over his squad ahead of their vital UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying match against the Netherlands in May.
Scotland are currently fourth in Qualifying Group Three, six points behind leaders Slovakia with three matches remaining and one game in hand.
First team players Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Gauld and Andrew Robertson all featured for Scotland Under-21s in their most recent outing, a 1-1 qualifying draw with Slovakia at St Mirren Park.
Scotland Under-21 coach Billy Stark: "We're grateful to Dundee United for allowing us to play our first Under-21 fixture of the year at Tannadice.
"It's been well-documented just how talented some of the young players they have at the club are and I'm sure some of those players will be involved in this match.
"We're getting into the final stages of our Euro qualifying campaign so it's important we prepare as best we can and Hungary will provide us with a real test.
"They've picked up a couple of good results in their own qualifying group and will look to cause us some problems.
"I'll be hoping for a good performance from the team but we'll be trying to win the match and entertain the supporters that come along to Tannadice.
"This will be our last match before we play the Netherlands in May and we want to go into that game in a confident frame of mind."
Kick-off time and admission information will be announced in due course.
