The Under-20s defeated their Hamilton counterparts 2 - 1 in a friendly at New Douglas Park this afternoon. In a first half controlled by United, Scott Smith broke the deadlock on 22 minutes. He was brought down in the box and from the resulting penalty made it 1 - 0 United.
Shortly after Scott Smith nearly made it two if not for a great save from the Hamilton keeper. From the resulting corner Adam Harwood fired his header into the back of the net to double United's lead. In a second half much similar to the first interval, Jamie Montgomery forced an excellent save from which Hamilton broke up the park through a long ball allowing them to make it 1-2 on 75 minutes. The game marked Jordan Allan's come-back in the team after three months.
