Dundee United are delighted to announce two special initiatives open to Armed Services personnel as Remembrance Day arrives.
Firstly, 200 tickets have been donated to the Armed Forces for the upcoming home match against Partick Thistle on 23rd November 2013. We look forward to welcoming armed forces personnel and their families taking up this offer at Tannadice.
Secondly, Dundee United have launched a special 'Armed Forces Ticket Package' (covering any six games of choice for only £90), aimed at loyal supporters who are serving at home or abroad but cannot commit to a regular season ticket.
Chairman Stephen Thompson said, "We have many supporters serving in the armed forces, whether in the army, navy or RAF, and we receive many good luck messages from bases all over the world including Afghanistan, the Falklands and Germany.
"It is with pride that we see Dundee United promoted by our fans on duty around the world and we wanted to connect more closely with them. With both initiatives, we have done so. Family time is immensely important for serving supporters and that was why we ensured the tickets for the Partick Thistle game are also available to immediate family members. Hopefully supporters will take advantage of this and enjoy the exciting and entertaining football of Jackie McNamara's team and realise that Tannadice is the perfect place for a family day out."
Major General Nicholas Eeles, General Officer Commanding Scotland added, "On behalf of the Armed Forces in Scotland I would like to thank Dundee United for inviting members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and Royal Air Force and their immediate families to the forthcoming match against Partick Thistle.
"In addition, the 'Armed Forces Ticket Package' offer will give Service personnel a wonderful opportunity to attend games when they are home from operations or from overseas bases. I am most grateful to the Club for its clear demonstration of support for the nation's Armed Forces."
The Army HQ in Stirling has already emailed all service units advising that bids for the Partick Thistle game tickets should be emailed to Captain Dave Mulholland on
tayforthotc-rhq-adjt@mod.uk by 19 November. Distribution of tickets will then be made by Capt Mulholland.
The 'Armed Forces Ticket Package' can be purchased from the Ticket Office within Dundee United Direct in Tannadice Street. Full details can be found on the Club's official website under '
Box Office'.
